Does the name, Tony Hsieh, ring any bells? It may once I mention the 40-foot-long praying mantis that he owns. CEO of Zappos, Tony Hsieh, has dedicated $350 million towards a project in downtown Las Vegas. Beginning back in 2012, Hsieh and his team devoted countless hours and money to rejuvenate a lifeless area right outside the strip. Not only will there be added nightlife, but also restuarants, dog parks, gyms, medical centers, etc. In the middle of 2011, The Ogden condos were only 20 percent occupied. After Tony moved in, the building is now full and thriving. This is just one of many changes in the area. Other improvements can be seen such as the Gold Spike bar that has completely changed its atmosphere. Most of the money went towards purchasing run down real estate around the area. He has many amazing plans; one example is turning an old 7- Eleven into a movie theater!
